And now? He can’t even sell “patriotic” merchandise without humiliating himself in the process.
In the latest absurd scandal, Trump’s official online store released new “USA 250” anniversary hats celebrating America’s 250th birthday…
Except there’s one tiny problem.
THE AMERICAN FLAG ON THE HAT ONLY HAS 48 STARS.
Not 50.
FORTY-EIGHT.
You truly cannot make this stuff up anymore.
The hats — selling for a ridiculous $55 each — feature Mount Rushmore, bald eagles, patriotic slogans, and Trump branding plastered everywhere. But somehow nobody inside Trump’s operation noticed the United States flag was missing TWO ENTIRE STATES.
And this wasn’t some random Etsy seller.
These hats were reportedly displayed INSIDE a White House cabinet meeting in front of Trump officials including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
Nobody caught it.
Nobody stopped it.
Nobody said:
“Hey… maybe we should make sure the American flag actually looks like the American flag?”
Because apparently competence no longer exists anywhere near Donald Trump.
And this isn’t even the first time.
The UFC promotional material for Trump’s upcoming “Freedom 250” White House event ALSO reportedly used a 48-star flag.
Then there was the Trump phone fiasco.
Remember that disaster?
The phone was hyped as “Made in America” before people discovered it was tied to overseas manufacturing. And even the engraved American flag on the device reportedly had the WRONG number of stripes.
At this point it feels less like patriotism and more like a low-budget parody.
This is the same Donald Trump who publicly struggled to pronounce “acetaminophen.”
The same man who confused Venezuela with Iran during a speech.
The same guy constantly lecturing Americans about patriotism while apparently not recognizing the correct version of the U.S. flag.
And yet his supporters are expected to spend hundreds and thousands buying this merchandise nonstop.
Meanwhile, Trump’s branding machine keeps printing money.
Reports show the Trump Organization’s store brought in millions while pumping out hundreds upon hundreds of branded products during his presidency.
Think about how insane that is for a second.
The presidency of the United States has basically become one giant merch operation.
Hats.
Coins.
Phones.
NFTs.
Sneakers.
Flags with missing stars.
And American taxpayers are stuck funding the chaos while the national debt explodes toward $39 trillion.
This is what happens when politics becomes a grift instead of public service.
Everything becomes branding.
Everything becomes monetization.
Everything becomes another cash grab.
Even America’s birthday.
